Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 18, 2026
Manny Transit Co. ("we," "us," or "our") provides non-emergency medical and behavioral health transportation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about patients, guardians, referring facility staff, drivers, and other individuals who interact with our services, including our text messaging (SMS) program.
1. Information We Collect
- Contact information: name, phone number, email address
- Trip information: pickup/drop-off details, scheduled times, transport status
- Referral information provided by partner facilities (case managers, coordinators)
- Driver and contractor information collected during onboarding (driver agreement, W-9)
Because Manny Transit Co. transports patients to and from medical and behavioral health appointments, some information we handle may be considered Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA. We limit what is shared by text message to the minimum necessary — see Section 3.
2. How We Use Information
- To schedule, dispatch, and complete transportation requests
- To communicate trip status and updates to patients, guardians, and referring facilities
- To coordinate drivers and dispatch operations
- To meet insurance, Medicaid, and regulatory recordkeeping requirements
3. SMS / Text Messaging Program
With your consent, Manny Transit Co. sends text messages for three purposes:
- Dispatcher-to-driver messages — trip assignments and operational updates sent to our contracted drivers.
- Referral-received confirmations — sent to referring facility staff (case managers/coordinators) confirming a transport request has been received and is being scheduled.
- Patient trip/ETA updates — sent to the patient or their guardian, such as driver arrival time.
Message frequency varies by trip activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. Consent to receive text messages is not required as a condition of receiving transportation services.
How consent is collected: through our public Text Message Sign-Up page (a consent box that is never pre-checked), or verbally when a ride is scheduled by phone using our published verbal consent script. Each consent is recorded with the date, time, and the exact wording agreed to.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only:
- With the referring healthcare facility or care coordinator involved in a specific trip
- With our drivers, to the extent necessary to complete a scheduled trip
- With service providers who help us operate (e.g., scheduling and communications platforms), under confidentiality obligations
- When required by law or to protect health and safety
5. HIPAA
Manny Transit Co. maintains administrative, physical, and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we handle. Where required, we enter into Business Associate Agreements with vendors that process Protected Health Information on our behalf.
6. Your Choices
- Reply STOP to any text message to opt out of future messages at any time
- Reply HELP to any text message for assistance
